Research Center MATHEON
”Mathematics for key technologies: Modelling, simulation, and optimisation of real-worldprocesses”.
Founded in 2002 as DFG Research Center, MATHEON has been established via a cooperation agreement between the five participating institutions:
Freie Universität Berlin (FU), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin (TU), Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics, and Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB). About 200 scientists including more than 40 professors of mathematics are presently doing research in about 35 MATHEON projects. MATHEON has large experience in organizational aspects and in industrial collaboration.
